Important Update: Alberta Construction Safety Association Regional Safety Committee Program Concluding

The Lakeland Regional Safety Committee (LRSC) would like to inform our members that the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) Board of Directors has made the decision to conclude the current Regional Safety Committee (RSC) program effective September 30, 2026.

This announcement was communicated by ACSA CEO Mark Hoosein on June 23, 2026, and marks the end of ACSA’s formal sponsorship and support of Regional Safety Committees throughout Alberta.
We recognize and appreciate the many volunteers, industry leaders, safety professionals, employers, and workers who have contributed their time and expertise to the LRSC over the years. Through your dedication, the committee has provided valuable networking opportunities, safety education, knowledge sharing, and industry collaboration that have helped strengthen workplace safety in our region.
While the current RSC program is ending, ACSA has indicated that it remains committed to regional engagement through initiatives such as:

  • Regional Safety Symposiums
  • Partnerships with local construction associations
  • Collaboration with polytechnic institutions
  • Direct outreach to industry stakeholders
  • Development of new opportunities for industry input into ACSA programs, training, resources, and services

Questions regarding the wind-down process or the future of regional engagement may be directed to rscfeedback@youracsa.ca until October 30, 2026.

On behalf of the LRSC, thank you to everyone who has supported the committee and contributed to improving safety within the construction industry. Your commitment has made a lasting impact on our community and workforce.

We will continue to keep members informed as additional information becomes available.

Chair: Mackenzie Nichol & Greg Hutchinson

The Lakeland RSC aims to promoting the mission, vision and programs of the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) and the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA) within the construction industry in the Lloydminster area. We encourage and assist member and associate member companies to develop and maintain a proactive health & safety program.

The RSC has a diverse membership we welcome and encourage new people from the Lakeland region to attend and participate. Lakeland RSC meetings cover everything from head to toe, literally. Training from podiatrists regarding foot protection to presentations from suppliers on hard hats and all points in between. We’re always looking for new ideas, venues, suppliers, displays and of course – volunteers.
